DevOps/SRE

We are looking for a DevOps SRE to help us build scalability into our systems.

Location:

London, UK - We offer a hybrid work structure with the ability to work a combination of in-office (in our Liverpool St London Office) and remotely. We strive for teammates to spend an average 3-4 days a week in the office as we feel there is no substitute for in-person work but allow for periods of remote working.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with development, product, and research teams to design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure for MEV and blockchain-related projects
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless deployment, testing, and monitoring of applications and services
  • Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the early detection of issues, enabling proactive problem resolution and minimising downtime
  • Continuously improve the security posture of our infrastructure, implementing best practices and staying up-to-date with industry standards and emerging threats
  • Optimise system performance and resource utilisation, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to ensure a smooth user experience
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of human error
  • Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis, identifying root causes and implementing remediation plans to prevent future occurrences
  • Stay current with the latest DevOps tools, technologies, and best practices, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Frontier Research's infrastructure and processes
  • Support the onboarding and training of new team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to ensure a high-performing, collaborative environment

Requirements:

  • A proven track record working on scalable systems that require maximum uptime
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a related role
  • Expertise in cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP), containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Rust, Go)
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes
  • An interest in blockchain and a willingness to learn about the MEV space
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the MEV space or with blockchain-related technologies (e.g., Ethereum, smart contracts, consensus algorithms)
  • Familiarity with the challenges and best practices in deploying and maintaining decentralised systems
  • Experience with performance optimisation and capacity planning

Benefits:

  • Competitive full-time salary
  • Equity
  • Hybrid work structure
  • Regular team on-sites (2-3 per year)
  • Small high-performance team with no corporate bureaucracy
